We are now accepting nominations for the 3rd Annual Wikipedia Review WP:DICK of Distinction awards pageant. Newcomers can acquaint themselves with the history of this star-studded gala event by following this link.
The categories are as follows:

WP:DICK of Distinction

This award goes to the admin who most consistently and corruptly abuses the tools. I'll get the ball rolling by proposing these favorites from previous years, all of whom have made their mark over the past year:

JzG
Jayjg
Will Beback

Miss Incongeniality

As if any explanation were needed, this is for the admin that most consistently and aggressively flouts WP:CIVIL.

The Tag-Team Event

This category, which is open to non-admins, is one of many attributes that the WMF has borrowed from its sister organization, the WWF.

The Straight Shooter

This event is open to admins only, and the award goes to the admin who most honestly and diligently attempts to exercise his or her authority in accordance with WP:NOT. Since we now have a bumper crop of admins who have joined the Review, I would like to invite them to self-nominate and engage in shameless electioneering -- knowing that they will be held to whatever promises they may make. Nominees:

Thatcher131
Jehochman
Cool Hand Luke
Newyorkbrad

Cojones de latón

This award goes to non-admins who boldly confront the cabal. Nominees:

Giano
Cla68
The Fat Man Who Never Came Back
George the Dragon
Alanyst

Please post your nominees for the various categories in this thread. I'll keep a running tally of the nominees, and in about a month, members of the Academy will be invited to cast their votes.

Some nominations for the only two categories in which I'll be participating:

Straight shooter

Jehochman
Cool Hand Luke
Newyorkbrad (probably not anti-establishment enough for most of the crowd here, but I think he's a model of integrity)

Cojones

The Fat Man Who Never Came Back

I'll probably add more to both categories as they occur to me.

Good calls. Actually, before we go any further, is JzG presently an admin? I recall him being on some sort of parole.

Unless you mean the outcome of the Cla-SV-FM-JzG-Viridae case, I'm not sure what you're thinking of. He's currently an admin in good standing and not under any restrictions.

Another nomination for the Cojones category: George the Dragon. Not my particular cup of tea, but I suspect his Arb Comm election performance will garner him a lot of support around here.

And another one: Alanyst, whose work in the Mantanmoreland case was exceptional (and who also made some interesting contributions to the Cla-etc.-etc.-etc. one).

No, for the following reasons: vandals, weirdos, trolls, etc. are a dime a dozen at WP, and are certainly not WP's responsibility. Admins, on the other hand, represent the project more or less officially, and therefore are [ahem] notable for the purposes of criticizing it.

Actually, a PoetEntity was a Wikipedia administrator ... but not in 2008.

Troll checkuser/admin tag teams are in another class, I think--I would like to vote for them as a "tag team."

Maybe I just feel this way because I'm a Utah alumni and so I perceive injustice in these project distinctions. Just because a team went undefeated in a non-BCS/non-ENWP conference is no reason to exclude them from the championship.

P.S.: Utes #1.

By all means. Actually, that category may include non-admins, so if there were a PoetTagteamer, he/she/it would be eligible.

I've updated the initial post to include all nominees thus far.

How about adding a BLP category? For those who refuse to make any positive improvements toward the bios of lp's and actually figuratively given innocent lesser known lp's the finger with their staunch positions. I could come up with a name for the award but I think someone wittier than me should do it. Just to give it a try: WP:Libel Lover

I don't see it. Using WP as a platform for defamation is a time-honored practice of most of the major WP:DICKs, and one of the hallmarks of true DICKishness is versatility; I don't think that you are likely to find a cabal admin who is a pure specialist. The ones who really excel are the ones wo can cover the gamut from defamation to incivility to abuse of process, without breaking a sweat.

Perhaps, but since BLP has been a major issue I thought it might be worthy to award those who best use it for defamation purposes. I did not know this was limited to cabal admins or maybe even their wanna-be followers. If nominations are limited to just these people, then I guess it's not necessary. Kato's list is a little long but I do not know how many of those are admins and if any would be considered cabal eligible to be nominated for such an award. Just an idea.

I didn't mean to suggest that the nominations are only open for "cabal admins," and of course, no two people will agree exactly on who the "cabal admins" are. There is, however, general agreement that they exist, and that they ought to have an honored place in this competition.

Raul654 for the "DICK of Distinction" award. I will compose a list of some of the things he has done to me over the course of the last year or so, in chronological order:

*privately warned me that unspecified things would happen to me if I did not quit posting to this forum
*posted a "history of me" to my talk page, filled with insults and misrepresentations, denigrating my entire WP editing career
*suggested that I should be banned from WP after I argued that his secondary "Ceiling Cat" account, which was used only for jokes, should be blocked
*tried to torpedo my RfA in August 2008 through vicious attacks, which were apparently successful in swaying enough voters to defeat the nom by a narrow margin
*most recently, and most egregiously, accused me of either calling the police with the intent of using them to harass Phil Sandifer, or instigating others to call the police for the same purpose.

Can I get a wiki-restraining order to protect me from this guy?

Cajones: Dragon695. Remember, his impertinent comments annoyed FeloniousMonk (FM) to such a degree that FM blocked him in retaliation, perhaps contributing to ArbCom's decision to desysop FM.

Straight shooter: SirFozzie for his bold work in the Weiss debacle among other episodes.

Miss Uncongeniality: Tracy Walker (KillerChihuahua). Most will recall that she was joined at the hip to Paul Mitchell (FeloniousMonk) who was unanimously condemned by ArbCom as an egregiously corrupt Admin. Even as Mitchell was going down in flames at ArbCom, Walker was hopscotching across multiple WMF projects to continue IDCab's disgraceful brand of thuggery.

Apart from the question of whether annoyance for annoyance's sake is a good thing (no), Dragon695 has a reprehensible attitude towards BLPs (opposed NOINDEXing because it would make Wikipolitics harder, supports including the real names of pornographic actors where they have not voluntarily linked it with their stage names,"But think of the subject's feelings, you cried! BLP is causing harm because someone is having bad things said about them on the internetz, you argued!", "the objections on ethical grounds" to putting pictures of identifiable living people into [[Twink]] without their permission "are stretching it."). I was just thinking earlier this week how pleasant it was not to have heard from him either here or at WP in a while.
