Would it be safe to assume that this is primarily meant to "offload" the sources of the more bitter and divisive politics-related conflicts onto another site, where they'll be out of the spotlight and less likely to make Wikipedia look like a big flame-war zone?
It should be just a matter of time before we start seeing exhortations for people to "take it to Campaigns Wiki" whenever someone starts a political argument.

this thread. I think that the combat and intrigue that surround the controversial articles are a leading cause of Wiki-addiction, and the new high-combat zone will be a magnet for the addicts. Therefore it is probably not a coincidence that the new site has Google ads all along the right margin. This may be a milestone in Jimbo's master plan.
