Because people who obsessively make thousands of edits to an imaginary encyclopedia think that other people with problems not so different then their own exist for their amusement.

This is really totally outrageous; if a sentence of 5 years probation meets the "notability-line" for being included in WikiProject: Criminal Biography....then there must be tens of millions, if not hundred of millions BLP´s yet to be included/written... AAArrrrrgh: just when you thought that things had improved on WP, at least with regards to BLPs...

I mean: one thing is that someone/anyone started the article ...(difficult to stop them ) ..but what on earth have the regular guys over in the DYK- area been thinking about?? And what is the chance of getting the whole thing deleted?

Well it's at AfD now. I can see precious little has changed re. BLP articles in the 6 months since I was away (IMG:smilys0b23ax56/default/rolleyes.gif)

(genuine question: should I be doing this stuff again or is it a completely futile exercise?)

Yep, that's pretty much the case. Recall that the BLP for this whackadoodle took three and one-half years and four attempts to delete before the article was finally axed. As I recall, the article itself was no longer than the "Bunny Lady" article, but the talk pages were exceedingly long and went into many archives.
