I think we missed this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arb...User:GlassCobra

It is nice to see Arbcom, as usual, sending utterly contradictory messages.

People make mistakes, I don't see a problem.

Now, do how we get Lara's bits back? They're too good to be hidden away in some dark ArbCom cupboard.

Are you trying to encourage Horsey?

Does he need to be encouraged? I hardly think so.

GlassCobra should have gone through RFA. The community may or may not share your view.

I don't share your mythical community''s view on many things, including RfA or the need for it. Not my loss, theirs.

He's incorrigible. So don't.

If what GlassCobra did was so bad that he deserved to be desysopped, then he should have to go through RfA again--if it wasn't, then the ArbCom should formally repudiate its earlier decision. Personally, I think it would be good if the ArbCom sent people back to RfA with some regularity, but also with an admonishment to the community that it shouldn't be so exacting in its standards. Since our very own Steve Smith took part in this decision (he opposed it), maybe he could offer further insight.

Probably not - broadly speaking, I agree with you (except about ArbCom advising the community to ease up on its standards - that'd go over like a house on fire, and The Community isn't really a body that can take and act on advice anyway). I support ArbCom re-sysopping users only where i. it's essentially vacating the decision to de-sysop, or ii. there is material information not known to The Community. I didn't believe that either applied here.
