There's a discussion on ANI (permalink) about whether a user should be banned for referring to Roman Polanski as a child rapist on Jimbo's talk page, per BLP.

There seem to be a lot of Polanski defenders on Wikipedia.

The following post disturbed me the most, though. Apparently, statutory rape against a 13-year-old isn't the same as statutory rape against a child.

Polanksi was convicted of statutory rape, and there is no question whatsoever that he committed that crime. Calling him a "child" rapist, however, is a question of definition, as his victim was 13 years old, not 5 or something. Perhaps it's another example of why Wikipedia is broken - because they generally believe a 13-year-old isn't a child.

OTOH Bugs is probably correct regarding those images. They seem to have come from someone's personal photo album/scrapbook, and look to be genuinely the property and work (with the exception a couple of scanned postcards) of the person behind the flickr account. Unless this is a deliberate attempt to wash over 1000 images, there is far too much personal detail on the photos for it to be anything else.

If that's true (and it looks like it is), it should stay at the deletion discussion. Bugs has the annoying tendency to never shut up, as this thread indicates. He shouldn't have posted the thread in the first place, but more importantly, he shouldn't keep replying to every single person's post. As they say, when you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

I don't know how the guy has any time to edit article space because he seems to spend most his time getting in to just about every AN/I thread going and making half-assed comments. I once held the same opinion. Then I realized that much of what he does or says is mockery and satire. His approach is rather similar to MZMcBride's.

Well, since Wikipedia is set up to reward trolling, you've got a problem.
