This needs to be hammered home on the media. There is no policy page concerning pedophilia. The page is only an information page and says itself that it is not policy. Clearly, looking at the edit history, the WP community is against this policy.

Right. But you credit WMF way too much. That "essay" or "policy" is only user generated content. WMF only hosts it. Even at that that it is only as good as the last edit. For Gardner to assert a "zero tolerance" policy it would require WMF to do something. This is analogous to a grade school basing its anti-bullying policy on whatever shows up as graffiti on the outside walls.

But even if you could delegate this task to "the community" it is riddled with immaturity and extreme libertarian attitudes that dominate the project. Just like when the WMF board credited the diligent efforts of "volunteers" in removing porn- only to immediately bring about a shit storm of controversy from those very same "volunteers" now threatened with having there porn taken away. It is a flat out lie that Wikipedia has a "zero tolerance" policy toward pedophilia, in fact Wikipedia remains one of the most pedophile friendly places in our whole society.
