This needs to be hammered home on the media. There is no policy page concerning pedophilia. The page is only an information page and says itself that it is not policy. Clearly, looking at the edit history, the WP community is against this policy.

And I'm no apologist for Jimmy Wales, but I see him making absolutist statements in the strongest terms, here and here and here and here, just from yesterday. For this, he got slapped down and completely dismissed and from what I can see, he has zero influence on the WMF these days (who don't want to touch this issue lest they be accused of exercising editorial privilege and thus jeopardizing Sec. 230 status) and he has zero influence on the community. Same as happened on Commons re. the pr0n issue; he gets smacked down by 'the community' for at least trying to provide some direction. WP may be his (co-)creation, but he's completely lost all control he ever had over it.

And right now, the drama-machine is shifting into overdrive and 'the community' are getting geared up for an RFC. This is guaranteed to descend into farce within days (flagged revisions, anyone?) yet go on for months. And, as Wnt suggests above, if the community dumps the pedo-ban policy, WP will officially become "The free encyclopedia that anyone - especially pedos - can edit. Let's welcome them with open arms!". Round about that time, it won't be just Faux News that's knocking on the door.
