I thought we were supposed to be a "family" website? I don't think I've ever put anything truly vulgar up there - maybe there's another word we could use for "ass" that wouldn't ruin the line?

But if it says, "Show us why Goethean is not an evil pimple on the ass of life," then it only makes sense to people who know who "Goethean" is, which (perhaps thankfully) isn't a very large number of people. What's more, why should they have to show us? That's not their job.

If there's a way to make it more universally appealing without being taken the wrong way by casual visitors, then sure... there must be a way, right? I'll have to think about it - right now, though, I'm coming off a lengthy work-jag and I can't think so creatively.

I was thinking of the WR tagline. Inistead of "Clearly stated, strength is always health" (sounds like Neitzsche after reading Marcus Aurelius again), you could have something like:

Which suggests a caption motto contest for WR, to run along side our long-standing one for WP.

BTW, anybody writing a book about WR could do worse than use a lot of those for chapter-header quotes. And maybe a end chapter with the rest of them. Sort of a "Raspberries for Wikipedia."

I actually consider User:Goethean's most egregious offenses to be some of the more recent ones, which suggests that he's burning out and losing patience to some degree. In particular, his insistence on trying to paint Ramakrishna as some sort of sex-crazed pervert seemed like the sort of thing someone would do once he started getting less interested in the gamesmanship and more interested in just getting pissed off at anyone who disagrees with him.

Alison, you participated in that thread - were you not reading the posts about what he was actually doing? IMO people have been banned for less than that before, at least when it was Christian or Jewish religious figures being attacked in that fashion. Then again, they banned User:Ptmccain and a variety of others for trying to defend Western religious figures too... but hey, inconsistent application of rules is what Wikipedia is all about, I suppose.

I had to look that one up. Indeed, "zipperhead" is Asian ethnic slur, so says Google.

I didn't know it until just now, and I'm originally from the East Coast - the Washington DC area, where Asian folks represent a fairly substantial minority. And one more thing - why do we avoid mentioning Goethean (T-C-L-K-R-D) 's real name? He's used it on so many websites at this point, it's utterly trivial to find it now, including photos.
