QUOTE(Herschelkrustofsky @ Wed 2nd February 2011, 11:29pm) Remember your basic instructions: you have a total of 3 points to award to DICK contestants. You may award all three to one candidate by voting for that person as both DICK and runner-up, or you may divide them by giving 2 to a DICK candidate and 1 to a runner-up. The winner will be the contestant with the highest combined point total. You must cast one vote in every category. The last selection is the equivalent of a "pass."All other categories are more straightforward: you have one vote for each category. Use it wisely. Here, for any N00bs, are the definitions for each category: WP:DICK of Distinction -- for all-around rottenness by an admin The Tag-Team Event (see Wikipedia:Tag team) Miss Incongeniality, for original and flamboyant violations of Wikipedia:CivilityVexatious Litigant, for the person who just can't get enough of those noticeboards and arbitration cases and for the good guys... the Straight Shooter award for honest admins and the Cojones de latón, for the non-admin who has distinguished himself in combat with the cabal Click here for a history of this exalted competition, if you need the back-story. All set? Let's vote! Keep it clean. Winners will be announced after the voting peters out in about 10 days. I would like to draw attention to the Paul Blart "wiki mall cop" Tiptoety (T-C-L-K-R-D)
as he is being considered, by the wikileet, for Wikipedia Ambassador Program. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is the perfect place for a Wannabee Vcop and wiki-jackass Teptoety. I would love to see such new talent for low bottom feeding be recognized. Please give our very own Tiptoey, the wiki Paul Blart, your vote for DICK of Distinction. QUOTE(SB_Johnny @ Thu 10th February 2011, 4:11am) QUOTE(Herschelkrustofsky @ Thu 10th February 2011, 12:44am) Wow! It's a dead heat in the Cojones event, with Cla68 and MZMcBride both at 19 votes. Meanwhile, Risker and Rlevse are creeping up in the Tag Team contest, breathing down the collective neck of the Climate Changers, while the Porn Protectors are still out front. And the Vexatious Litigant race is now turning into a contest between our own Abd and Baseball Bugs, with FT2 falling behind. The new votes are coming in slower now, with most members of the Academy already having cast their ballots. But that trickle of new votes will decide at least two hotly contested races.
The Vexatious Suitor award would probably be even more fun to watch if someone had thought to put Ottava in that one too. Indeed. Renzo Cesana parodied as Pepé Le Pew and finally synthesized into SNL's "The Continental." But without the charm.

QUOTE(Herschelkrustofsky @ Sat 12th February 2011, 3:38pm) And, with the trickle of new votes now drying up, it looks like Baseball Bugs for Vexatious Litigant (no joy in Mudville,) and a tie between Cla68 and MZMcBride in the Conjones event. Of course, between now and Sunday evening, there may still be one stray voter passing by.
If it is a tie, does two-times academy award winner Cla68 get to keep the trophy?

If it is a tie, does two-times academy award winner Cla68 get to keep the trophy? No, we just add a cluster to the decoration he already has. Or maybe a little ball. Two more of these and he'll look like a pwn shop sign.

If it is a tie, does two-times academy award winner Cla68 get to keep the trophy? Due to cuts in the Program and Catering Committee budget, we can only afford to provide a virtual trophy to the victorious WP:DICK. You know, the Tag Team event is still very close. There could be an upset victory for the Climate Changers.

QUOTE(EricBarbour @ Sat 12th February 2011, 1:23pm) QUOTE(Milton Roe @ Sat 12th February 2011, 12:05pm) Two more of these and he'll look like a pwn shop sign. Freudian slip of the year! Go to a pawn shop to sell something.....go to a pwn shop to get pwned. Wikipedia: one of the web's biggest pwn shops. That was a deliberate pun. I think that there's some merit in describing WP as the world's largest pwn shop, 3 balls and all. Though I'm not sure who has the 3 balls (maybe it was Godwin for tweaking the FBI). Anyway, if you take your spare time into WP, they'll give you a barnstar pwn ticket for it. And if you go back to retrieve it, they'll say they lost it. WP: the world's first cashless pwn shop!

QUOTE(Cedric @ Wed 9th February 2011, 7:21pm) QUOTE(Doc glasgow @ Wed 9th February 2011, 7:44am) I think this award needs retitled next year.
*"Vexatious litigant" is someone who files spurious lawsuits to distract or harass, and would to me mean someone who repeatedly went running to arbcom or XFD/DRV for no good reason (and usually lost). As the proposer of the award, I must agree. I saw it as a chastisement for those who run too easily screaming to the various "enforcement" mechanisms that WP offers QUOTE(Cedric @ Wed 9th February 2011, 7:21pm) QUOTE(Doc glasgow @ Wed 9th February 2011, 7:44am) What I think we've got here is an award for long-winded, off-topic, and tl;dr submissions. The source of the problem was that I separately proposed NYB for an award for which I was unable to find a catchy phrase. "Stemwinder" is too polite. "Impotent ArbCom Logorrheaic" is too ... opaque (and probably misspelled).

QUOTE(Herschelkrustofsky @ Sun 13th February 2011, 3:01pm) QUOTE(Detective @ Sun 13th February 2011, 2:17am) When it says the polls close at sundown, is that in Perth Australia, Perth Scotland, Swalwell Alberta or Cupertino?
I was thinking International Date Line. I have no way of strictly enforcing this of course, except that I will close the thread when sundown comes to Kalifornia. Interpolated from last Friday that would be about 5:17 P.M. (PST) or 01:17 London time. Got that, Sherlock? This post has been edited by CharlotteWebb: Mon 14th February 2011, 12:21am
