Following on naturally from the Toilet paper orientation topic, I propose a ... (probably another) ... "How can they allow this shit? Category".
Well, how about ... Chocoball Mukai? No, not a thing, per se, but a male pornographic actor whose claim to fame is apparently the resemblance of his dark brown scrotum to a Chocoball candy. Fine ... right ... highly notable to some I suppose ... and I am by no means expert in Oriental male appendages ... but count the 6 deadlinks and blog sites!?! What I think of some of the shit some arsehole admins who read these forums have put us through over perfectly formed or academic references and entirely apt discussion, I have to wonder ... what is going on over there and how can they allow this shit into their laughable "sum of all human knowledge"? Sadly, the topic is unreferenced by a photograph and so this could help you to imagine ... Alternatively, for the boys, straight off prime time TV ... |

More for the "How can they allow this shit?" ... can anyone tell me why they need 600 odd nigh identical graphics of Fukuoka Prefecture Route Signs ... each one with only a different number?
Is that poor, young black girl in Africa ... who Jimbo tells us that Wikipedia is really for ... honestly planning to get so very lost on the Japanese island of Kyushu that she needs these to find her way? They really are fucked. The project is off the planet. They have no collective comprehension of relevance or a reference point with reality. For those of you who don't know, Fukuoka is a prefecture on one of the minor islands of Japan, its capital city enjoying some celebrity for a high quality of life. But, hey, this is the internet and there is NOTHING WRONG with having an image of every road sign from every local government in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU GET IT GUYS????????? ITS KNOWLEDGE >>>> WOW >>>>>> LET'S START WORKING ON IT NOW .... do you want to join my World Road Sign Taskforce!!!!!!! (My apologies to those still working on documenting railway stations.) |

I told them a couple times they need some way to templatize SVG files, derive them from wiki-text, etc., i.e. be able type something like {{fukuoka_route_sign|NNN}} and generate the corresponding icon on demand, where said template contains the svg/xml tags for a blank route shield and a mess of parser-functions to choose font-size for the text NNN based on the number of digits etc. It would of course require making the roadgeek-2005 font et al. available to librsvg or imagemagick or whatever they're using when they finally get around to doing this. |

And when, pray tell, is this magical event going to pass? Don't kid yourself. Encyclopedias (real ones) are edited by editors who mean to provide a short overview of a broad range of subjects, with references to look up full stories. Wikipedia is not an "encyclopedia". There is no editorial oversight, because the "editors" are not editors--they are random loose nuts who want to babble about One Piece or Power Rangers. They cannot agree with others who do not share their pathetic juvenile obsessions, so we have wars and backstabbings and sucking-up instead of editing. And one lone maniac who wishes to talk about Fukuoka Prefecture road signs. (He even used a bot to do the dirty work--supposedly. All he did was copy the images from the Japanese transport ministry's webpage. Or so we are expected to believe. Funny, I don't see all of those road number signs on the ministry's website. He obsessively created all 600 .svg files, and posted them. But we know who to blame for this, ultimately! )This post has been edited by EricBarbour: Sun 6th February 2011, 9:01am |
