Do we really know how much Star Trek there actually is. The category doesn't tell you that much, because it's all split into these stupid subcategories and subsubcategories and so on in an infinite recursive loop.

E.g. you can go into Star Trek books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Star_Trek_books but then there is a whole load of stuff underneath that. There is also another separate category of novels http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Star_Trek_novels, which also descends into other things that may or may not include the main category. There is also a list of Star Trek lists http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Star_Trek_lists .

List of Star Trek planets http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_...s_(A%E2%80%93B) - and this is just A-B.

How much actually is there?

Much (though clearly not all) Star Trek fancruft is kept off of Wikipedia by the existence of Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki. That, in my opinion, is a better use for a Wiki than Wikipedia.

One can presume that everyone at Memory Alpha knows that Star Trek is a work of fiction.

For comparison's sake, Doctor Who has 1681 articles, Days of our Lives and General Hospital have 116 and 104 respectively, and Pokémon has 271.

OMG! My entire life is a mistake! I need to go and immediately delete everything I've written, everywhere. This is so ..... embarrassing.

But now I have real meaning to keep me alive, a task to accomplish to benefit the Galactic Federation. Deleting all that nonsense. It will take me a long time. Meanwhile my grandchildren are maturing and may be about to have children of their own, and maybe they will all distract me from the Great Task.

It's just what happens.
