Maybe the check was run but in a way that does not leave the log trail you are expecting. If you're not a poser, or just in it for the giggles or the power trip, then run the check yourself to verify. Or contact the blocking admin and ask them. On enwiki, make a complaint to the Audit subcommittee if you feel there is an abuse of some kind.
