Nota Ben, and Bene, too. Other aspects of the treble troubles on the Charles Sanders Peirce article, plus some emusing new developments that seem to be breaking an ill wind there, are being discussed on the UDOIID Thread.

That seems to be it for now. Everybody's happy now in WikiWakiWorld, 'cause nobody who actually cares about the subject, knows about it, or wants others to know about it, can work on it now.

Is this for real?

Then again, is anything for real in Wikipedia?

Maybe we should invite Essjay here to tell his side of the story — unless of course he's already tanning himself in the SlimVirgin Islands under that Golden Parachute that Jumbo slapped on his back to keep his mouth shut about where all the other skeletons are buried.

Jonny cool.gif

This Just In !!!

Apparently Essjay is tanning himself in Saudi Arabia.

Recent events, here and elsewhere, demonstrate one of the most significant differences between Wikipedia and any form of responsible publication. When The New Yorker discovered its mistake in the Essjay interview, however much time it did in fact take to do so, it published a very apologetic amendment to the record. Not so in WikiWakiWorld, where the revelation of a serious mistake on the part of Administrators SlimVirgin and Jayjg, in consort with editors Blainster, FranksValli, Kenosis, and WAS 4.250, generates no more salutory consequence than a perverse perseverance to preserve the effects of the error and a full-scale campaign to warp their perceptions to fit their predelictions.

Eye, There's The Rub ...

Predelictions? I like it, I think I'll keep it. Sounds a little like "pre-emptive deletions made by lictors". Cf. Jona Lendering, Fasces and Lictor, at Livius.Org.

I had forgotten that many details about the life-&-death-cycle of the Charles Sanders Peirce article are contained in the above thread.

I read carefully through the material that was deleted - badly spelled, ungrammatical, incoherent etc. Do you have a problem with the deletion? Who wrote it?

Glanced at it, looks like several different contributors.

You don't know how to correct misspellings yet?

It's easy, you should get someone to show you.

Of course, they'll usually just fix 'em back.

But more importantly, I'm guessing you never bothered to read that stuff about the Five Pillars, did you? Be sure to look it up sometime, it's a hoot. Though it's likely to be called the Five Pillages or Pillories or Pillows or something by now. Or maybe it was simply beyond your comprehension?

Go back to your Wiki-Wyler's …
