However, they are not hidden from automobile engines, including the newer, more "environmentally-friendly" electric and hybrid engines. Also, please note that this subforum is meant to be used for discussion of the actual biographical articles themselves; more generalized discussions of BLP policy should be posted in the General Discussion or Bureaucracy forums.

Eventually the Allison Stokke article has been deleted.

This is a positive step by wikipedia - alongside the merging and deletion of the Crystal Gail Mangum article. It means that the site is making some sort of token effort to resist it's increasingly tabloid-freak show nature. Those who were able to see the larger implications, and voted delete, should be commended. Ironically this includes some of the leading problem editors singled out on these pages for severe criticism. But that can't be helped, even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day!

These articles are merely the tip of the iceberg, of course, and many more problems would need to be solved before we can even start thinking that wikipedia is not an ongoing disaster.

QUOTE(Reaverdrop in the Allison Stokke AfD @ 4 June 2007 23:43 UTC)

The comments by David.Monniaux on WP:BLP in the previous nomination, to the effect that "Wikipedia is not a newspaper. The bare fact that someone has been in the news does not in itself imply that they should be memorialized forever with an encyclopedia entry...." etc., should have been the last word on the matter. -

Quote-parking again... might want to keep this one handy the next time Daniel's article comes up for deletion. smile.gif

Even a stopped clock is right two times a day.

Of course the characteristics of a stopped clock is that 1) it is broken, and 2) it is static. WP is broken and constantly in flux. From a the view point of a BLP victim this is much, much worse.
