So much for skin modifications! NO MORE SKIN MODIFICATIONS!

We might want to look into a software upgrade at some point, too... I mean, this is 2007, and "skinnable" and "customizable" are not supposed to be pie-in-the-sky fantasies.

Still, let's not worry about that for a little while...

Anyway, I hope nobody was overly inconvenienced by the outage. (I know, poor choice of words.)

Hey, congratulations on figuring out how to rectify the problem.

Incidentally, I'm rather fond of the present skin. It has a down-home sort of dignity, sort of like Andy Griffith playing "Matlock." wink.gif

Hey, congratulations on figuring out how to rectify the problem.

But I didn't figure it out, unless "send multiple frantic e-mails to Selina" qualifies as figuring it out... smile.gif

I hated that show...!

Anyway, over the past year-and-a-half, the default skin has been messed around with quite a bit, for various purposes. Just about every recent attempt to fix or improve something has actually made things worse IMO, my own attempts being quite prominent in that regard. And we can't add new skins, because of problems with the Skin Manager... But just today I've counted at least four more bugs in the forum that weren't there last Friday, the loss of the "Quick Edit" button being the most serious.

So, maybe we should think about upgrading sooner rather than later? Presumably an upgrade will restore the default skin to its pristine state, and the Skin Manager (not to mention the Skin Chooser) will start working again. There are literally thousands of free IP.Board skins out there - we could have dozens of choices if we wanted 'em.

Maybe we should move this thread to a subforum where people can comment on it? I keep forgetting that only moderators can post in this one.

By the way:

I'd like to thank Mr. Blu Aardvark for setting up a temporary forum for us while WR was, uhh, experiencing problems. That was a very thoughtful and generous of him, and with any luck Selina will agree and (hopefully) forgive him for that little misunderstanding that occurred over a year ago...

I'm in the process of copying some stuff from there to here, so if anyone would rather not have certain things copied over, send me a PM. (Unless of course that feature has also stopped working.)

Anyway, Mr. Aardvark, if you're reading this, I'm sorry we don't have little "barnstars" to hand out! Or valuable cash prizes, for that matter.
