People already do that. I think that NIH was just figuring that since things were so bad, it would encourage its experts to go to WP to give them a hand to fix up the problem, probably figuring they'll be welcomed, listened to, and thanked.

Which just shows you what a bunch of academic MEDLARS-sucking anemic federal librarians they are, over there at NIH. Totally out of contact with the reality of the internet, and certainly knowing nothing of the realities of Wikipedia.

Your Tax Dollars At Waste

It would be vastly more efficient if they just maintained their own web presence in a way that rose to the top of the search heap, instead of wasting God-And-Present-Company-Knows-How-Much-Time trying to fix and refix and refix and refix again the mal-informations of Wikipediots.
