Let's abstract the schema of a rhetorical routine that is rife in the rants of Wikipediots. It goes a bit like this —

• Gang X bruits ownership of Color Y and Turf Z.
• Ergo, anyone who criticizes the actions of Gang X is bruited to be a Y-hater and a Z-trespasser.

Hardly a new routine in the repertoire of monkey business that falls under the heading of human descent into inhumanity — then again, No Original Routine is the name of the game in Wikiputia — but let's give it a handy handle for future reference hereabouts and dub it the Rumble Rheme.

We've all seen the Rumble Rheme — also known as the Gang Identity Gambit — many times before, so there's no inherent difficulty in recognizing each new instance of it.

The political arena is filled to the brim with gladhandiators who declare themselves the "Protectors" of Mum, Kidney Pie, and Cricket — and once they've draped themselves in the Union, Jack, who can say nay to their patriot games without being libeled a hater of all that is holy.

No one past the mental age of two or so could be fooled by that trick — psychologists call it displacement — which is probably why so many Wikipediots and other regressed personalities just keep falling for it.
