Yes, George Alan Rekers is quite an unpleasant fellow.

Nevertheless, his BLP (specifically the "rent boy allegations" part) is a prime example of Wikipedia's internal culture, indulging itself by hating on conservative political figures. Deserved or not, debatable. If they had stuck simply to Rekers' professional and political activities, that would have been damning enough. But no, Wikipedia just has to rub the rent-boy into the wound.

Just for some "balance":
Here's Rekers' personal website.
And this might amuse you.

the article is just a prime example of how people love to read (and write) about scandals, especially when laced with hypocrisy. zealots try to add this kind of stuff to both conservative and liberal articles.

if there's a bias that favors liberals, its because the average wikipedian is probably more much liberal than, say, the average among the population of the United States. and this is going to be more magnified in rekers case, because support for gay marriage, gay adoption, and against torturing teens to try to make them straight, is pretty damn high among young adults.

The important function that Wikipedia plays is to make sure that scandal never dies. In the news media, it will eventually be time to move on, to forget about Mr. Rekers in order to be speaking about Michael Jackson's kids, or the hiccup girl that murdered someone. But thanks to the rentboy-like relationship between Wikipedia and Google, the scandal stays springtime-fresh on the internet.
