If you'll recall, back in November there was a big stink over some vandalism to one of the Nintendo articles, which started what might be called a "wikifoodfight" when the Nintendo fans started vandalizing the Sony PS3 articles, and vice-versa, until a bunch of articles finally had to be protected. We don't pay much attention to subjects like this, but when you think about it, there's an enormous amount of money involved - people looking for info about which new game system to buy might very well go to Wikipedia thinking it's completely neutral, when it clearly isn't. A few nasty comments, accurate or not, inserted into one of those articles could make a huge difference in the bottom line for a lot of these companies... so it wouldn't be the least bit surprising to find that there's some paid editing going on.
