Is this a glitch in the wiki or something deeper?
That happens fairly often when established users change their names... Will Beback's original WP username was too close to his real name, so he had it changed, and the original user page was "salted" by creating an ordinary page there, for what then became a non-existent user.
So his contributions from his old account have merged with the contributions of his new account or not?
You can tell I know next to nil about WP technology. As far as I'm concerned, Check User and the like is just some shaman like Dmcdevit at an altar throwing down bones and saying "De bones sey dat Runcorn an' Poetlister ar de same person! Now, I mus' go an' resurrect Hector Barbossa!" I do know that except in extraordinary circumstances can anyone's contributions be completely removed or erased from the WP database. So somewhere I should be able to see Will Beback's old account's contributions or this is in violation of the GDFL or something.
