This diff shows some email messages Elonka exchanged with Bluemarine (aka Matt Sanchez)

Elonka is an admin who has been involved in the Matt Sanchez article. Pwok is a user who was banned for what might euphemistically be called "high spirited" editing, but otherwise considered disruptive. The entire conflict revolved around a content dispute over Sanchez's past prostitution admission could be included in his article or not.

I would be interested in the opinions of others regarding this post that Tennessee Jed made to my Talk showing some of Elonka's "mentoring" of Sanchez.

Welcome wjhonson, if you haven't already done some searching through the archives there are a few threads about this issue, some of which were started by Pwok himself many months ago.

Appears to have been oversighted already. Dang, I've got to be more on the ball than this!

They didn't oversight this bit, which is still in the history:

This is truly outrageous, even for Wikipedia. Elonka Dunin, an administrator, draws the line when the subject of an article "gets upset?" How utterly fatuous and hypocritical, not to mention at cross-purposes with what Wikipedia claims to be. Matthew Sanchez is a public figure, by which I mean to say that he has willingly injected himself into an issue of public note. Johnson's site contains verified facts about Sanchez. The so-called "hate site" operated by Charles Wilson also contains facts, along with negative commentary on those facts. In Dunin-World, it is "hate" to express a negative opinion about someone she likes, but not "hate" to tell lies -- up to, and incuding, prima facie libel -- about someone she doesn't like.

Wikipedia's article, and the surrounding discussions, contain a series of anti-gay slurs authored by Sanchez, and specific attacks on individuals, including a libel against Wilson. This libel -- that Wilson has AIDS -- is also one that you, Ms. Dunin, have repeated in backchannel conversations with Sanchez, along with other unfounded accusations. Yet, you come here and chastize Johnson on "ethical" grounds? Have you no shame whatsoever? By what set of mental gymnastics do you claim that the rules apply to everyone except yourself and those you have decided to take under your wing? Where is that Wikipedia "pillar," Ms. Dunin? I want to see it.

Ms. Dunin, do you deny that you've made these statements about Wilson? Please, make your denial. But be careful as you do so, because everything you've written has been archived. Any denial you make is going to be blown clear out of the water by your own words. Which, so you know, I have decided to pass along to Wilson along with a mountain of other information about Sanchez that renders this discussion about the man's background and current activities quaint. I've asked Wilson not to publish it for the time being, pending the outcome of this proceeding and some other ones. But, at some point, I'll release Wilson to do as he pleases with the information I have gathered.

Then, Ms. Dunin, we will all find out exactly -- in your own words, faithfully reproduced -- just who has been operating a "hate site" and who has been "unethical." And won't that be interesting! Tennessee Jed 4415 (talk) 15:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Note the use of the term "injected" - it sounds like this "Tennessee Jed" feller has been taking JoshuaZ lessons.

I'm not sure what to make of this. If Sanchez wanted out of Wikipedia completely, I'd say let him out, but if he instead wants to make sure his article only says what he wants it to say, and all the while he's been making public slurs against gay people, and hanging out with Ann Coulter to boot, while trying to hide the fact of his own background as a gay porn actor?

I dunno... the whole thing just seems kinda... yucky.

Perhaps, but I had not before seen these emails from Elonka to Sanchez which seem rather unusual. Pwok posted emails before here?

I've posted the entire exchange on this thread. It seems that Mr. Sanchez's email account got hacked, but nobody's been able to confirm whether the exchange is accurate or not. Elonka is playing a very dangerous game here...

I think this list of incriminating edits, compiled thanks to Proabivouac, deserves to be replicated on this thread :

After spending the morning venting at her latest target, User:PHG…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Elonka
…Elonka turns again to her most reliable bureaucrat/meatpuppet, User:WJBscribe:

19:40 Elonka warns PHG: “PHG, you have to stop. This behavior is extremely disruptive.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=185022806
20:10 WJBscribe nominates Mulay for deletion:

20:13 Elonka nominates Template:Mongol alliances for deletion:

20:15 Elonka informs PHG that Template:Mongol alliances has been nominated for deletion:

20:17 WJBscribe informs PHG that Franco-Mongol alliance (modern interpretations) has been nominated for deletion:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=185049803
20:20 WJBscribe votes to delete Template:Mongol alliances:

20:47 Elonka votes to delete Mulay
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=185056522

Despite this tight coordination, there is (as usual) no visible communication between Elonka and WJBscribe.

Most amusing is how WJBcribe followed his template delete vote with two others, as if he were just routinely visiting the page…
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=185053160
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=185053441
…even though he hasn’t participated in a template for deletion since 9 November

WJBscribe warned PHG to stop tangling with Elonka:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...oldid=182135437

WJBscribe nominated Elonka for adminship:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Req...inship/Elonka_2

WJBscribe meatpuppeting to keep Elonka’s famiy spam:

Funny, isn’t it, how ardent belief in the notability of the Dunins and disbelief in alliances with Mongols go hand in hand?

Were the mere fact of long term meatpuppetry from a bureaucrat not enough, WJBscribe happens to be the chair of the Mediation Committee:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Med...ctive_Mediators
which just heard this case involving Elonka and PHG:

In light of that, off of the supposed email exchange between Elonka and Matt Sanchez :

QUOTE

'''Jan. 6, 2008 - Elonka Dunin to Matt Sanchez'''

"There are definitely gay editors on that page who have an agenda."

"If you would actually listen to the advice I've been trying to give you (for several months now), we could have had the article stabilized a long time ago. But instead, you attack the editors who are trying to help you (me), and empower the editors who are trying to hurt you (the gay nutcases)."

"Of course there are gay nutcases. smile.gif And some of them I've even gotten blocked from Wikipedia."

"I can help illuminate which editors are the real ones that are on your side."

"WJBscribe is a powerful ally for you. Extraordinarily powerful, and very sympathetic. He's a good guy, but he's fighting so many battles for you, he's getting into trouble himself. :/"

"WJBscribe and I can be of enormous help to you. I'm an admin now, by the way. It was one of the most controversial votes in Wikipedia history, but I finally made it. smile.gif"

"But I have increased access to some tools, and my voice has a tiny bit more weight. WJBscribe is a level above admin. He's one of the people that promotes admins. There are only about 12 of those on-wiki. He's very influential.

"There were other things I wanted to do on Wikipedia. I didn't want the Matt Sanchez article to be my full-time job. But now that it's going to ArbCom, I'm willing to help out again, to help guide you through the process."

"As for 'factually incorrect', take the long view... We will get the article fixed..."

While I'm well aware I'm one of Elonka's least favourite people on Wikipedia, on one point I'll actually defend her here; PHG isn't a legitimate editor who's being singled out for abuse by a malicious admin, but exactly the sort of editor "the WR crowd" despises, who should be hounded off Wikipedia if it's ever going to be credible. After a huge blowup with Elonka recently about the subject, I actually went through his edit history, and it's a mess of fabricated sources, deliberate mistranslation and nutty POV-pushing ("it was actually the Mongols, not the Crusaders, who captured Jerusalem" - does anyone seriously think the pagan capture of the most significant sites in the world to three leading religions wouldn't have been mentioned anywhere at the time?)

I understand the points. But the dubious activity is not in the banning of a problematic contributor, it is the collaborative methods in which they go about the site - Elonka pops up here, another follows in tow - WJBScribe shows up there, Elonka follows etc. Without any onsite signs of communication. Hence it is obviously going on behind the scenes.

It is the classic case of what they call "meat-puppetry", and given that this is frowned upon by "the community", and in some cases has become a banning offense, it is another example of the hypocrisy that riddles the place.
