nobs forwarded the following e-mail. Let me preface it with a disclaimer. Nobs was placed in a difficult position with ArbCom, Jimbo, and list moderators. As a believer in the viability of the Wikipedia project, and having spent several months contributing in good faith and abiding by all stated Wikipedia policies (including NPA), it became difficult to ask for a fair hearing, without sounding as if I were trying to blackmail the wiki bosses, for the gross violations of process which now have resulted in defamatory smears against my name and person.

Actually there is a very interesting ongoing story (scandal perhaps).
The Chairman of the Arbitration Committee, Mr. Fred Bauder, as well as
a Wikipedia "notable expert", Mr. Chip Berlet, are both former members
of the National Lawyers Guild.
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...&oldid=29476030
Mr. Berlet has been admonished numerous times for "excessive
influence" over his biographical page, yet the Arbitration Committee
has never seen fit to enforce its "admonishments".

The National Lawyers Guild article now is in the early phases of
Wikipedia's so-called "dispute resolution" process.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:National...s.2C_and_Is_Not
At issue, is a citation from Prof. Harvey Klehr which reads,
"The NLG [National Lawyers Guild] is an affiliate of the
Soviet-controlled International Association of Democratic Lawyers
(IADL).... Over the years it has steadfastly supported every twist and
turn in Soviet foreign policy, including the invasions of Hungary,
Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan."
Harvey Klehr, Far Left of Center: The American Radical Left Today
(Transaction Books, New Brunswick, 1988), p. 161.

Both men, one a former NLG Vice President, were NLG members at the time of
the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan. Another editor recently was
banned for one year after Mr. Bauder determined that proper citations
to Prof. Klehr and others, as per Wikipeida's stated policies WP:CITE,
WP:Verifiability, and WP:Reliable Sources were "personal attacks" on
another user.

As per Wikipedia policies and guidelines, so-called "experts" are not
to cite themselves and avoid neologisms. The Conspiracism article was
created by Chip Berlet,
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...4&oldid=9289545
Berlet cites himself in the article in violation of stated polices.
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...&oldid=25614043
A link from the Chip Berlet article, "Finding Our Way Out of
Oklahoma", by Adam Parfrey, Alternative Press Review, Winter 1996
http://www.altpr.org/apr7/oklahoma.html
attributes the neologism, "conspiricism", to Chip Berlet, in violation of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Avoid_neologisms
Other sources cite Berlet as the author of this neologism as well, yet
he is regarded special privilege, in violation of stated policies.
The [[Soviet invasion of Afghanistan]] article states,
"An estimated one million Afghans were killed between 1979 and 1989"
Wikipedia contributors, "Soviet invasion of Afghanistan," Wikipedia:
The Free Encyclopedia,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_invasion_of_Afghanistan (accessed

The [[Democide]] article states,
"Significant 20th century democides...Afghanistan (1979-2001) 1,400,000 "
Wikipedia contributors, "Democide," Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democide (accessed December 2, 2005).

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Yet the NLG good 'ol boy network
takes punitive action against users who try, in good faith, to follow
Wikipedia's stated policies.I'd be happy to provide more details to
interested parties. Thank you.
