Full Version: Checkuser/oversight appointments

Well, it's time again for all important checkuser and oversight appointments. Yes, this time there will be no election. Arbcom have the final say, regardless of community opinion. After the last elections spectacularly appointed a single person, it's clear that they do not want new functionaries.

Regardless, we have MuZemike (T-C-L-K-R-D) from last time, and the ever recurrent Tiptoety who's tried for CU umpteen times, and now he'll have it handed on a plate.

Repeated for oversight is Beeblebrox (T-C-L-K-R-D) plus others like MBisanz, which makes me assume all or most have tried before and failed. Oh, and Cary Bass is a candidate too.

I never bothered too much about this...but perhaps I should have. The Amoruso (T-C-L-K-R-D) -case was interesting.

In April 2008 Amoruso, (a fierce pro-Israeli edit-warrior) was reported for socking. Thatcher found it likely, and Morechi blocked him for 2 months, with the edit-line: "Very abusive sockpuppetry: Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Amoruso, Next block should probably be indef."
What happened next was interesting; Thatcher posted some extremely detailed evidence on the case. In fact: so detailed evidence of socking is normally reserved for users who upload pretty pictures of "themselves", eating a sandwich. Which Amoruso had not done. wink.gif And T. also notified Jayjg, for some reason. But Amoruso was not unblocked early, in spite of his strong protests.

Now, this year, Amoruso was again reported for socking. The way I read this, is that exactly the same happened now, as back in 2008; edits from other local IPs dovetail with those of Amoruso. But, this time the CU is Avraham (T-C-L-K-R-D) , and, surprise, surprise: Amoruso is let of the hook!

Btw, Avraham (T-C-L-K-R-D) was one of the receivers of Jayjg´s notorious "watch my back"-email, see here.

Ah, what a difference a CU makes. wink.gif

What a difference a jay makes
And who has C.U. powerz
Ducked the rap within hours
Where there used to be COI

My yester-year was blue man
For the Israel true fan
But sacrifice by Avra-ham
Won’t be CAMERA boi

(His hand was stayed. Take it away, Shankers!)

Tiptoety again?!? Why won't that fucking idiot just give up already? If I had the chance, I would play heavy metal music on max in his room while he's asleep.

Better still you could take a pillowcase, fill it full of bars of soap, and beat the shit out of him.
