Full Version: Dreadstar case

This seems complicated, one of those situations where you can't tell the players without a playbook. The SlimVirgin hypocrisy is not immediately obvious to me, although don't get me wrong, I haven't a scintilla of doubt that it exists. I suspect that corrupt WikiAlliances are at play here; Dreadstar was recently barnstarred by Will Beback for perma-blocking a pro-LaRouche editor, which would also earn him big points with SV and Four Deuces, both of whom show up to comment here on Dreadstar's behalf. The Pseudoscience topic probably triggers sympathetic action from any number of well-established tag-teams, such as the Climate Changers. However, the real motives of all concerned are buried here in a tl:dr mass of WikiLawyering.

If there is any applicable jargon that I have neglected to use in this post, please let me know.

I think you could have used the word "refactor" somewhere in there.

SV was desysopped as retaliation for overturning an AE block.

Aha - par for the course. Every behavior she denounces in others, she has done at least once herself.

Huh? She was saying Dreadstar's unblock was no big deal because Sandstein was as hard to understand.

Actually: how IS that hypocritical? SlimVirgin probably thought it was no big deal when she overturned an AE block.

Nuke moved it to here. Don't ask me why, ask him.

In this case, I'm inclined to believe only one thing: that Sandstein is still an asshole.

You're slightly off at least with respect to The Four Deuces, as far as the tangled web is concerned. TFD is simply supporting Dreadstar because Dreadstar undid a block by Sandstein who blocked Ludwigs2 with whom TFD is allied on the whole communism thing (Mass Killings Under Communism, Communist Terrorism articles etc. ) (for the record I think Sandstein's block was way way over the top - I see much worse stuff almost everyday)

Wait, she was desysopped for overturning an AE block and here she is "defending" (somewhat halfheartedly) another editor who is in danger of being desysopped for overturning an AE block - I got that right? How is that hypocrisy? It sounds like consistency to me. Of course it could be a self serving, cynical kind of consistency, but it is not hypocritical. Hypocritical would be if she had insisted on her right to overturn AE blocks but wanted to have Dreadstar desyssoped for the same.

Let's keep the sins straight here.

(oh I see someone else already caught this)

Why don't we call it 'ironic' and call it a day?

Why don't we call it 'ironic' and call it a day?

That would be awfully confusing. How can something be both 'ironic' and a day? blink.gif

Bleh...why is it I am involved in all of the article topics that all of these users are on the opposite side of from me? dry.gif

Though I admittedly have pretty much dropped my involvement on the Communist terrorism article. There's just no way to get anything done there.

One of the standard definitions of irony is an expression that carries multiple meanings. Savor the moment.
